Whilst the Le Praz ski area is very small, it is well-serviced by two lifts connecting you to the wider Courchevel ski area and the Three Valleys. There's the Forêt chairlift which takes you to the top of the Bouc Blanc piste (a ski lift away from Meribel), whilst the newer Le Praz bubble lift delivers you to the centre of Courchevel 1850 in just six minutes.

If you are looking to ski back into Courchevel Le Praz at the end of the day then you can take the new Eclipse World Cup piste or the red Brigues/Amoureux pistes which bring you out by the Alpinium building. Beginners needn't worry though; the Le Praz bubble lift stays open until 11 pm so there's no risk of missing that last lift down. The resort also has a designated ZEN zone designed specifically for beginners to practice their technique.

Courchevel Le Praz is also the place to go for those in the know when the weather closes in. The forested runs such as Murettes, not only offer a beautiful winter wonderland but provide better visibility and tend to be a lot less crowded.

Le Praz is a popular destination for Nordic/cross-country skiers with a number of 'ski-de fond' pistes with gentle gradients.

With restaurants to suit all budgets, Courchevel Le Praz's dining scene ranges from gourmet eateries to classic cuisine. Attracting visitors from the other Courchevel villages, Bistrot du Praz is a traditional restaurant serving delicious local specialities. For further Savoyard specialities and meat cooked on the open fire, head to La Petite Bergerie, a cosy restaurant with a roaring log fire.

For fine dining, Azimut is popular whilst La Table de mon Grand Pere teams friendly service with a great selection of seafood dishes.

Apres-ski in Courchevel Le Praz is a little limited but there are still a few good bars to try. Pizzeria and sports bar L'Elephant is the liveliest of these with weekly live music and dancing into the early hours. Families can enjoy sledging in areas around the village, the highlight being the 2-kilometre toboggan run that links Courchevel 1850 to Courchevel Village. There are nearby ice rinks in Courchevel 1850 and Courchevel 1650 and opportunities to go dog sledding or paragliding.

In summer, Courchevel Le Praz serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding mountains on foot with a variety of trails for all levels. Hikers can enjoy breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and the Vanoise National Park, spotting local wildlife along the way.

Popular routes in the region include the Lac de la Rosière Trail which takes you through a serene forest to a beautiful mountain lake, and Col de la Loze hike, offering stunning views over the Courchevel Valley and beyond.

You can also enjoy mountain biking on well-maintained trails, fishing in Lac du Praz and golf on the 9-hole course which sits at 2,000 metres.

How to get to Courchevel Le Praz

The closest international airport to Courchevel Le Praz is Geneva International Airport (GVA), which is about 190 km away. This airport offers frequent flights from major cities around the world and is the most popular choice for visitors travelling from abroad. Chambéry Airport is closer, only 110 km away, and also provides seasonal flights during the winter, although it has fewer connections than Geneva. Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport (187 km and Grenoble Alpes-Isère Airport (130 km) are other options for international travellers.

From any of these airports, you can take a private transfer, shuttle service, or rental car to reach Courchevel Le Praz. The drive from Geneva typically takes about 2.5 hours depending on the weather.

If you prefer to travel by train, Moutiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains is the nearest railway station, located about 25 km from Courchevel Le Praz. The station is well-served by high-speed TGV trains from Paris (approximately 4.5 hours), as well as other major French and European cities.

Once you arrive at Moutiers, a short taxi ride or shuttle service can take you the rest of the way up to Courchevel Le Praz. The journey by car from Moutiers takes about 30 minutes, making it an easy and convenient option for train travellers.
