Where to Stay on your Zermatt Ski Holiday

Zermatt chalets are in high demand. Due to strict planning regulations, new properties rarely enter the rental market. If you’re planning to visit during peak season, early booking is strongly advised.

As the resort is quite spread out, location is crucial when renting a chalet in Zermatt, especially if you want to avoid walking for miles in your ski boots. Though there are no true ski-in/ski-out chalets in Zermatt, many Zermatt luxury chalets are located near a bus stop or within walking distance of one of the three lift stations.

This stunning Swiss town has cozy chalets, epic skiing, and one of the highest mountains in Europe.

What Sets Zermatt Ski Resort Apart?

The History of Zermatt:

Surrounded by 38 summits above 4000m, Zermatt is a year-round resort that attracts visitors worldwide. This blend of cultures is just one of the many things we love about this car-free town.

With a history stretching back to the 13th century, you can feel the presence of past generations as you stroll along the narrow lanes in the Old Village, past ancient, weathered chalets, barns and stables.

Despite its traditional past, Zermatt boasts a contemporary culinary scene, a modernised lift system and luxury chalets equipped with the latest state-of-the-art facilities, making it a vibrant, bustling town.

There is something extremely special about skiing in the shadow of the Matterhorn and there are so many incredible restaurants too. My favourite is Fluhalp. I love their hearty salads and cheese fondue but make sure you leave room for the utterly delicious pancakes for dessert!
