Leo Trippi's Highlight
Property Tour & Rooms
A short drive from Morzine.
Located right in the middle of the village square in Montriond, Chalet La Maison is an original town house dating back to 1749. Fully-renovated, the property has been beautifully transformed into a unique mountain home. The village itself has a few shops, two bars and a restaurant but the main centre of Morzine is only a short drive away. The slopes can be accessed via the Ardent lift which is just a 10-minute drive away from the chalet.
A lot of thought has gone into the re-design of this 18th-century property, retaining original timbers whilst updating it to suit the modern age. The rooms and spaces flow from a central staircase which was hewn from 370 million-year-old sedimentary Caithness stone from the Northern Highlands of Scotland. On the top floor of the property is a vast open plan living area which has been split into three separate zones; the main lounge, the library and the bar. Take in the stunning views of the Nantaux peak from the William Yeoward bespoke sofas, admire the Brand van Egmond chandelier, settle down beside the fireplace in the library area or enjoy a drink at the bar area beside a second fireplace. There's also a full-size pool table and a balcony with views over the village square.
The first floor is all about dining, with a state-of-the art kitchen, elegant dining area and floating wine cellar. The kitchen is split in two with a concealed professional space and a stunning front kitchen built around a DeManincor range.
Adjoining the dining area is the floating wine cellar featuring bar stools and a glass floor looking onto the swimming pool below. There's also a baby grand piano, giving guests the opportunity to showcase their skills.
One of the main highlights of Chalet La Maison is the incredible spa centred around an 'L' shaped swimming pool with a counter-current, various massage zones and two fountains. There is also an indoor and outdoor hot tub, a barrel sauna, a large steam room, a relaxation area with lounge seating and a rain shower with fibre optic "night sky" lighting. A corridor leads from the spa area to a raised studio - perfect for Pilates and yoga. There's also a massage room where you can enjoy a range of Bamford treatments.
A cosy TV snug on the ground floor is ideal for any children or teenagers in the group. Also on this level is a spacious ski room with heated boot warmers and a garage. On the first floor, with upholstered seating and chic Timorous Beasties wallpaper, is what is known as "Le Boudoir", a luxurious space separating two bedrooms.
Six en-suite double/twin bedrooms are divided between the three floors at Chalet La Maison. The two bedrooms on the top floor, featuring free-standing copper bathtubs, are particularly striking. Several bedrooms have walk-in wardrobes and all have twin basins in the bathroom.
