Restored farmhouse overlooking Morzine

Set on the hillside above Morzine, The Old Macaroni retains much of the structure and warmth of the original farmhouse, while bespoke furniture, theatrical lighting and book-inspired bedrooms give the interiors a more individual feel.

The main living room occupies the first floor, where bi-folding doors open almost the entire side of the room onto a wraparound balcony. From here, the view stretches across Morzine, its church and the Pléney and Nyon pistes. A wood-burning stove and grand piano complete the room, while a concealed doorway leads to a private office.

Downstairs, the open-plan kitchen and dining room form a sociable space for meals. The kitchen includes custom-made appliances and a professional teppanyaki plate, while an additional seating area provides somewhere quieter for coffee or can be used as a separate dining space for children.

Each of the bedrooms takes inspiration from a different novel. Highlights include The Little Prince suite, with its velvet bed, private balcony and mezzanine bathroom with a freestanding bath, and an All Men Are Mortal-inspired room with a large open shower and dressing area. Two bedrooms can be configured as doubles or twins.

Above and behind the living area, an open mezzanine contains four built-in double cabin beds, each with curtains and its own television. This imaginative space is best used by children or younger guests, with a play area alongside the beds and a shower room at the bottom of the stairs.

After skiing, guests can step onto the deck for the outdoor hot tub and glass-fronted barrel sauna, both overlooking the village. There is also a treatment room with an internal shower and mood lighting, while the lower-ground-floor cinema has tiered seating, integrated surround sound and Art Deco-inspired interiors.

Good to Know

Occupancy:

The occupancy of 12 is based on five double bedrooms and two sleeping on the mezzanine level. An extra six people can be accommodated if the mezzanine level is fully occupied with two people in each double bed. Please note, the catered prices in winter are based on 12 people sharing. If you would like to add more guests at extra cost, please contact us for details.

Space & Layout:

The treatment room contains a fold-away double bed and can serve as an additional bedroom. It offers less privacy and comfort than the main bedrooms, making it more appropriate for a nanny or member of staff.
The mezzanine sleeping area is open to the chalet rather than enclosed by a door.

Location & Access

The Old Macaroni occupies an elevated position overlooking Morzine, within walking distance of the resort centre. Both the Pléney gondola and Super Morzine cable car can be reached on foot, while driving considerably reduces the journey.

Distance to Ski Lifts: 4-minute drive/15-minute walk to the Pléney gondola & a 5-minute drive/15-minute walk to the Super Morzine cable car.
Distance to Morzine Centre: 6-minute walk (uphill on way back)
